World Affairs Council /World Community Institute 2010-11 Visiting Fellow Lecture Series:
Sacred Spirit and Respectful Living
Tuesday, September 28, 2010, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m., Bettendorf Room

About Our Speaker: Judy A. Morrison, Cherokee/Osage, is the Native American Spiritual and Cultural consultant to the Iowa Department of Corrections.  She is also on the Iowa Department of Multi-Cultural Health Advisory Council, and is the liaison to the Commission on Native American Affairs from the Department of Corrections.

About the Program: Of her presentation, Judy says, “The Earth and all things upon her are Sacred, the two legged, four legged, winged ones, those that swim, and the creepers and crawlers.  We as two legged must learn to walk gently among our Relatives with respect and humility in a Spiritual way remembering that we are just a small part of the whole.  Today we will set as Relatives and learn of a way of being and a time most have forgotten but still it remains and still we remain.  Spirituality is a gift from the Creator to the women and men of the Earth on how to live each day in our words, our thoughts, and our actions.  Come, let us share what most have forgotten and fewer ever knew.”

The Bettendorf Public Library partners with the World Affairs Council and the World Community Institute to present programs of global education and international understanding.
